#230 — Umaji-mura – The Yuzu Forest

A creamy matcha white chocolate oatmilk latte with a white chocolate dipped rim, topped with a cloud of yuzu-infused vegan whip.

On the side, crafted by our talented friends at Level V Bakery, is a Yuzu cream puff dipped in rich matcha white chocolate. This dreamy set is perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and made entirely from 100% plant-based ingredients (as always). Themed merch is also available at the café throughout the Hot Chocolate Festival.

In May 2025, we had the chance to visit Umaji-mura, a tiny village tucked away in Shikoku, Japan – famous for its vibrant yuzu orchards and exceptional yuzu juice. We were completely enchanted by the lush scenery surrounding the factory, the crisp brightness of the fruit, and the warmth of the people who welcomed us. Inspired by that visit, we wanted to bring a taste of Umaji-mura to you – in hot chocolate form.
